What Social Media Management Costs in Calgary: 13 Published Prices

Synopsis
Social media management in Calgary costs between $399 and $5,000 a month among the businesses that publish a price, with a median starting price of $999 a month. We checked the websites of 28 Calgary agencies and freelancers on 3 October 2026; 13 of them show a monthly price, and the other 15 ask you to get in touch first.
This guide lists all 13 published prices with a link to each source, explains what the money buys at each level, and gives you a short list of questions that make two quotes comparable. We sell social media management too, so our own price is disclosed near the end and is not in the averages.
How We Checked
On 2 and 3 October 2026 we searched for Calgary social media management prices the way an owner would, and added the agencies listed in the Clutch and Semrush directories for Calgary. For each business we opened its own website and recorded only a price we could see on its page. Directory listings, search snippets and "agencies typically charge" articles were used to find businesses, never as the source of a number.
A business counted as Calgary if its site gives a Calgary address or office. Several pages that rank for "Calgary" belong to firms in Toronto, the United States or overseas using a template city page; they are left out. All prices are Canadian dollars a month unless noted, and none of them include ad spend.

Across all 29 packages these 13 businesses publish, the lowest is $399, the median is $1,495 and the highest is $5,000 a month (Marvel Marketing's top tier, 30 posts across 5 platforms). Prices were read on 3 October 2026 and do change: at least one page in the list had different post counts in search results cached earlier in 2026.
What Each Price Band Buys
The packages fall into four bands. The boundaries are ours; the contents are what the pages say.
- $399 to $600 a month: about 8 to 12 posts on one platform, with the graphics, captions and scheduling done for you. Usually no video, and replying to comments is often extra.
- $800 to $1,500 a month: two or three platforms, roughly 12 to 20 posts, some Reels, basic replies to comments and a regular report.
- $1,500 to $2,500 a month: three to five platforms, photo or video shoots, real community management, sometimes ad management.
- $2,500 to $5,000 a month: regular production days, paid campaign management and up to 30 posts a month.
What changes as the price goes up is mostly video, the number of platforms and how much of the replying is done for you. Per post, the spread is wider than the monthly prices suggest: YYC Social and Everex Media work out to about $50 a post, Clio Websites' one post a week to over $100 a post, and Marvel Marketing's 10 posts across five platforms to $150 a post.
What The Price Tag Does Not Tell You
Two packages at the same price can be very different jobs. When we read the fine print, five things moved the real cost the most.
Who supplies the video. Some packages include a shoot; others expect you to send the clips. Marvel Marketing's $1,500 a month package, for example, includes one video that the client provides.
Whether replying is included. "Community management" can mean an hour a month of monitoring or daily replies to every comment and message. At YYC Social, daily engagement is a $449 a month add-on.
The contract. Most Calgary pages that state terms are month to month. Get Think Social is the exception: the same service costs $3,150 a month on a 3-month contract and $2,400 a month on a 12-month one.
Ad spend. No published Calgary price includes the money paid to Meta or Google for ads. Where ads are managed, the spend is on top.
Hidden prices. 15 of the 28 Calgary businesses we checked do not show a monthly social media management price on their site: some show nothing, one shows only a minimum for all its services, one sells one-off content packages. More than half the market asks you to call before you can compare.
How To Compare Two Quotes
Ask every agency the same seven questions and write the answers in one table. It takes ten minutes and makes the quotes comparable.
- How many posts a month, and on which platforms?
- Who creates the photos and video, and is a shoot included?
- Who writes the captions, and do I approve them before they go out?
- Who replies to comments and messages, and how fast?
- What do I get each month to show it is working?
- How long is the contract, and what does it cost to leave?
- Is any ad spend included, or is it on top?
Then divide the monthly price by the posts you will actually get, and look at what is left over: video, replies and reporting are where the real differences sit.
Where Our Own Price Sits
We are not neutral here, so here is our number. Social media management at Octopus & Son is $450 a month for eight posts on two channels, written in your voice, planned a month ahead and approved by you, with no contract. That puts our starting price third-lowest among the 13 published prices above. It does not include video shoots or daily replies, and if you need those, the $1,500 a month band is the honest place to look. If you are not sure social media is the right first step at all, a website or getting found on Google often brings more calls for the same money.
